Diana Joan Sutherland is your link to all things local
A connector, strategist, and storyteller passionate about helping businesses grow.
As the founder and president of plain.stated.LLC, she works with brands, farmers, and makers to turn ideas into impact — blending sales expertise, creative strategy, and deep industry connections. Every project starts with listening, then building a plan that works in the real world.
She doesn’t just connect the dots — she connects the people, the stories, the purpose, and the path forward.
Experience & Expertise
My work spans sales strategy, brand development, and market navigation. I’ve collaborated with farmers, producers, brokers, retailers, industry networks, and government agencies to connect people and products with the right opportunities — always with a focus on building relationships that last.
Beyond plain.stated.
In addition to leading plain.stated., I founded The Grow Kit Collective, a nonprofit created in collaboration with the Georgia Grown Innovation Center and Georgia Grown, to provide development, education, and strategic support for businesses navigating the complex food landscape.
Community & Roots
Raised in the legacy of an agricultural powerhouse, I carry forward the Sutherland family’s standard of excellence while forging my own path in retail, foodservice, produce, and food systems consulting. I continue to support Sutherland’s Foodservice, honoring the foundation my family built while expanding into new industries and opportunities.
When I’m not mapping out strategies, guiding workshops, or touring gourmet food shows, you’ll find me photographing real-life moments, lifting weights, laughing through Pilates, dancing with friends, reading something inspiring (or mind-numbing), hitting the road for a spontaneous trip, or enjoying a beach day. I’m a proud mom cheering on my daughter Corey and the devoted human to Mr. Waggles.
I’m a Georgia State Panther (B.A. in Spanish), a Woodward Academy alum (War Eagle!), and an active board member of The Go Mission and The Plaza Midtown. I live, work, and play in the heart of Atlanta — sharing beyond my own walls, supporting others, and loving where I live.
